On September 14th 2023, I turned 40 years old. I wanted to celebrate this milestone in my life in a very special way. That's why I decided to walk from Morzine to Rome along the famous Via Francigena. A pilgrimage of 1136 kilometers. I took off on July 15th and I managed to arrive on my birthday on the majestic Saint Peter's Square in Rome. I'm so happy and grateful that I could make my dream happen. But I realize that I'm lucky. I'm healthy and that's why I can do big walking challenges like this one. Not everybody is as lucky. That is why I also wanted to help fulfilling the dreams of children with a life threatening illness. I couldn't do this on my own, but we could do this together and we did! My hope was to raise 1 euro for every kilometer that I walked. The result exceeded all my expectations. Just WAW! Thank you so much to everybody who made a donation. Make-A-Wish® gelooft in de helende kracht van wensen. Daarom vervullen wij de hartenwens van kinderen tussen 3 en 18 jaar met een levensbedreigende medische aandoening om zo hen kracht te geven de strijd tegen de ziekte verder te zetten. Want als een kind kan geloven dat zijn wens uitkomt, dan kan het ook geloven dat hij beter wordt.
